JUST hours after spearheading the campaign to cancel a Mexican-themed party at Sydney University, the Autonomous Collective Against Racism (ACAR) has been caught airing a racist public tirade.

The rant, in which an ethnically Greek student is labelled an “invader coloniser” for being a “white man #1 [sic.]” and told to drown their “skinny d*ck ass in tequila” and get “white girl wasted”, was posted on ACAR’s public Facebook page.

It comes just hours after the ACAR publicly criticised a university decision to host an end of year party with the optional dress code of “Mexican Fiesta”.

“We found [the party] to be culturally insensitive,” said Eden Caceda, an ACAR office-bearer, in comments to the Sydney Morning Herald.

“I feel that it is insensitive because it stereotypes my culture and it is exploitative because it is not really inventive” said Caceda.

The university has since removed a dress code theme for the party.

Yet in a major embarrassment for ACAR, which received $2000 in student money in the 2014 SRC Budget, the Collective has now been accused of double standards after a public post labelling one student as an “invader coloniser and commodifier of culture [sic.]”.

“It’s ok mate you can still drown your skinny d*ck ass in tequila and get white girl wasted [sic.]”, the post continued.

The post was in response to criticisms that ACAR had been engaged in “token political correctness… destroys something, fixes nothing.”

Responding to another student, ACAR posted that the student “needs to learn how to f*cking read and educated yourself sound salty as f*ck”.

The posts have since been deleted. In its place, a more measured comment has been posted, but no apology was forthcoming.

As if things were not bad enough, Mon Droit has learnt that this is not the first time that the SRC has come under attack for unsavoury behaviour.

At O-Week this year, one student alleged to Mon Droit that they had black paint tipped on them because of their skin colour after seeking to join a collective.

“If you want to join so f*cking much, then now you can,” the student was allegedly told. Another student, told us that despite being ethnically black, they were turned away after accusations that they were “culturally white”.
